AgriBusiness Communications Group focuses on what we do best--public relations, advertising and marketing support for agricultural clients. We know farming practices and understand agricultural technology. We know how to talk with and write for farmers, dealers, university researchers and government officials. We are experts at using farm, trade, local, state and national media to reach target markets through print and broadcast media. We also create direct mail, collateral materials, web pages and videos, and provide meeting support for our agribusiness clients.

Successful communications is based on thorough planning. At AgriBusiness Communications Group, we believe well-planned communications tactics are unparalleled in their ability to reach targeted audiences with credible information that helps meet specific business objectives. We also recognize the value of integrating advertising, public relations and other communication disciplines.

The unique spirit of creativity, thoughtfulness, client-centered philosophy and determination at AgriBusiness Communications Group produces for our customers the decisive results that are needed in any situation. And it is these qualities that have positioned ABC Group for even greater growth.

The role of communications in today's agriculture is changing dramatically. AgriBusiness Communications Group is a leader in agricultural communications, recognizing trends, monitoring issues closely and recommending the most effective communications approach. We believe public relations can be a highly flexible and cost effective tool in meeting the needs of today's changing agriculture. We also understand the value of integrating advertising, direct mail and collateral into a total communications plan.

AgriBusiness Communications Group invests a lot of time in the field -- with your members, customers, dealers, industry experts and employees -- everyone that impacts the image and sale of your products and services. We maintain long-lasting relationships with these core groups. These relationships are necessary to earn and keep the respect of important agricultural influencers.

We handle a significant amount of public relations for our clients as part of a full-service advertising and communications program; however, we also work with clients directly on a PR basis only. The important thing to consider when developing a communications plan is to consider all advertising, collateral and public relations tactics. AgriBusiness Communications Group is a full-service agency that has extensive experience in developing the many communication tactics used to reach targeted audiences. Many of these tactics are overlooked by our competitors because they are not "money makers" for an agency. At AgriBusiness Communications Group, we consider and utilize just the right mix of tactics.

Agribusiness Communications Group, founded by Jim Haskins in 1994, works in a number of agribusiness markets throughout the region - tobacco, cotton, grains, sweetpotatoes, peanuts, vegetables, pork, turf, beef, turkeys and Christmas trees, developing and executing multimedia communications projects aimed at growers, retailers, as well as the general public.

A veteran agrimarketer and accredited public relations practitioner, Jim Haskins has 30 years experience working with large companies, cooperatives, associations, and individual farming operations to small agribusiness entities – advising them on all aspects of advertising, public relations and promotional strategies. Haskins taught agricultural education for five years after graduating from The Ohio State University. He then earned a master’s degree in Agricultural Journalism at The University of Wisconsin.

Believing that involvement in agribusiness organizations and the industry is important to his business, Haskins has served as a past national officer of the National AgriMarketing Association and an active member of the AgRelations Council on a national level. Most recently, he has served as president of the NC Ag Communicators Network and president of the North Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
